Mónica Taboada-Tapia is a Colombian filmmaker with a BA in Anthropology and Film & TV.
She has directed award-winning feature films and shorts, including Fidel (2012), Two-Spirit (2021), and Red Flag (2023), selected at IDFA, Palm Springs, and other international festivals.
Her feature debut, Soul of the Desert (2024), a Colombia-Brazil co-production, premiered at Giornate degli Autori, winning the Queer Lion at the 81st Venice Film Festival and screening at over 50 international festivals.
